Planning Front Cover
For my front cover my main attraction needs to be my title and main image that will lie as the background on the front cover. Firstly the title needs to catch the reader’s eye and let them know what my magazine is all about and the reggae genre of it. I have used my results from my questionnaire to determine the reggae colours of my title which are red, yellow and green. This should instantly let the reader know what sort of magazine they are picking up. The name of my magazine must resemble my reggae genre and link with that sort of theme. The image must also indicate with the reader the sort of magazine they are reading. The image I am going for is of a person with an African based background to give me the real reggae effect. They will be carrying some sort of instrument to let the reader know that they will obviously be reading a music magazine.
I will be using front cover design 3.
Contents
The contents must be clearly shown on the contents page and easily found by the reader. An image must be used to show the featured artist and a pull quote to let the reader know what will be shown throughout the magazine. It must reflect the style of the front cover to let the reggae style flow throughout the magazine. Therefore I must use the colours yellow, red and green to link with the cover.
I will use contents design 2.
Double Page Spread
Within the double page spread there must be a good interview with the artist and images so go with it. The images/image must be balanced with the amount of text to go with it. The columns must be placed in the correct way to fit the codes of conventions and the images must line up with the columns. The reggae style must also run through to the double page spread as well and carry on the theme.
I will use the double page spread design 3.
