From Miss D

Plan fonts, colours and coverlines as well so you have a lot to work with. You really should be thinking about the construction.

Focus Group Analysis

I asked this question to see if my idea of a reggae magazine would actually be popular and apart from a few people it was. This lets me know that my reggae idea would possibly be successful and people are interested in it.

I asked this question to see what sort of artists to inlclude within my magazine. I was not sure to go for the classic reggae approach but risk it being out of date or go for the new modern reggae but the quality and popularity of the music tobe not as good

I asked this question to see if my magazine has already been done. My results show that my magazine ould be new the market however I cannot think that it may not have been made becasue it would be unsuccessful.

I asked this question because was I not sure what font to use throughout my magazine. This qeustion helps me get an understanding of what the readers like to look at and inevitably what font to use for my final magazine. Looking at my results is shows that Avant Garde MD Bt which was one of my more simple fonts telling me that simple would be more effective.

I asked this question to see what sort of colours I should use as an overall theme for my magazine. Green and Red came up as most popular, mainly I think because it resembles the colours of Jamaica which stereotypically is where most reggae music is made. However green and yellow came out popular as well which will leave me to decide between green and red or green and yellow or maybe I will mix them all up.

I asked this question to see if people of the modern day had heard of great previous reggae artist such as Jimmy Cliff and Desmond Decker and to my surprise a few people had heard of them and not just the obvious artists such as Bob Marley and UB40. However Bob Marley did come up in my results as the most popular so within my magazine I will not be including unheard of reggae artists.

Some nice work in the analysis now, some useful information which will come in very useful in creating your product.

Questionnaire Analysis

I asked this question to get an view on what the publics oppinion on magazines and if new ones on the market that look good would be able to out sell not so flash ones but with a good reputation. My results showed that it is all about reputation and that for my magazine to make an impact i need to build up a reputation first and not worry about how it looks althouhg in my view it does help its sales alot.

I asked this question because i was having trouble in what to include within my magazine and it gave me a good view on what to put in it. The two main attractions were interviws and stories about the artists. These results have made me make the decision that they will be my two main attractions about my magazine along with a free CD.

I asked this question to get an idea of where most people get there magazines from. My reults whow that about 90 percent of people buy there magazine from a shop. This mainly becasue it is eaier and cheaper due to not having to pay for postage. This information helps me in where i will advertise my magazine and sell it.

The reason i asked this question was becasue within my magazine i was thinking of importing images with half naked people but i was not sure. Using my results they showed that people do not mind obvious pictures. Mainly because in womens magazines there are lots of celebritys on beaches and they like tospot the bad points about them. However on the mens magazine they like to look at naked women which i think is why the rsults came out mpre popular for obvious images.

I asked this question to decide whether to include a free CD in my final magazine. This question gives me an idea whether or not my audiance like free gifts and if it will perswade them to buy my magazie or not. Using my results it shows that including a free CD in my magazine does draw them in to buying a magazine rather then one without it, this will help me in what to put on my magazine and whether to give a free CD or not.

I asked this question becasue there is still a wide range of people who do not buy am magazine and my aim was to find out what it was about magaziners tht stops them from buying them. As you can see from my chart that the large majaority of my chart that the main drawback about magazines was the price and a few people said bad articles. This will help me in deciding how much i will charge for my final magzine.

I asked this question to get an idea of what my audiances price range is and what they can afford. This will also give me an idea of the quality of the magazine. For example if my audiance like expensive magazines they are after good quality paper and lots of interviiews. If they prefer cheaper magazines they don't mind lower quality paper and less bg celebrity interviews.

The qeustion that i asked above is one of my most vital qeustions as it indicates to me which genre would be the best for my media magazine. Acording to my chart the most popular genres are pop, reggae, drum n bass and RnB. I am happy that these three came up becasue it gives me a wide range of ideas to work with and the results are slpit between four genres and not just one which inevitably decides which genre i have to go with for my magazine.

I asked this questin to get a overview of the amount of poeple who actually buy magazines. In my results more then half do buy a magazine which will give me an idea of all the positives and negatives about the magazines they buy and those who do not will let me know what it is about the magazines they do not like and why which will help me with my decsion make my final magazine.

Fom the Pie graph above you can see
that i have asked more females than males which may push my results slightley more towrds the feminime side. However it is not massively biased towards females which does still make it quite reliable, this alows me to see a the likes and dislikes of each sex.
